Do you have insurance?

We operate as a company in Indonesia, therefore we do not have liability insurance (as it doesn't exist for Indonesian businesses). Rather, we ask our guests to have individual insurance. We also have a waiver everyone must sign before coming on our boats.

What are the make and models of the boats in PH’s fleet? 

The boats are handmade from scratch by the community and fitted with diesel engines, I have attached a few images so you can see what they look like (below). The boats are between 35-40 foot & capable of travelling very far distances through rough seas.  

What’s the boat capacity? 

The vessels can take 20 people each but I have a limit of 10 passengers. When at sea seven of us live on the boats for two weeks.  

Are there life jackets on the boats?  And how many? 

Yes- our boats are fitted with 15 life jackets each. 

Do you keep a log of boating accidents? If so, what was the nature of the incident, severity and impact. 

We have had no boat incidents since beginning tourist operations in 2018. I have now done two trips with them at sea, both to fish and tag sharks- which involved a long time at sea and in rough conditions. In this time I have experiences engine failure, running a ground, prop fouling & other incidents, all of them were handled in an impressive manor by the crew who I would trust with my life (we won't experience this in our inshore day trips). Rest assured that the area in which we operate & you will be joining us in is a sheltered bay never subject to rough weather & we are surrounding by other capable vessels if anything were to happen.  

Is there any safety equipment on board?

Paddle boards, first aid kits, Epirb & life rings.

How frequently do you require the boats to get serviced? 

The maintenance of the boats is the responsibility of the captains. As they are the sole source of income for the crew, the vessels are very well taken care of.  

Are there any qualifications or licenses that your crew, esp those piloting a vessel need to have under Indonesian law, ie in Australia you must have a boat licence to operate a boat. 

Yes- the captains have Indonesian boat licenses & the vessels are registered.

DO YOU HAVE STOCK FOOTAGE WE CAN LICENCE?

Yes, we have a lot of stock footage & can provide links to videos so you can supply us with timecode of the footage you would like, then we can hand over the raws. Our stock footage prices range between 50-100 AUD per second. All our footage is non-exclusive and there will be no exceptions on the rates of footage regardless of if your production is promoting our project or not. CAN WE FILM AT THE MARKET?

Aware of the controversy surrounding Shark fishing, the Indonesian government makes it impossible to obtain a license to film the market where shark catches are being landed. We have stock footage that you can license and we welcome you to attempt to obtain a permit, but without one we cannot take you to the market to film.
