Reece Foundation envisions a world where everyone can access clean water & sanitation. Project Hiu see a world where shark fishermen have a choice. The school that children of fishermen attend is the perfect place for our organisations to work together.

A school environment can be the difference between a future of fishing or something better, and often factors like a parents economic situation can stop a kid attending school. Why? Because there is no water. Water comes from the mainland and needs to be shipped in and sold.

Our solution is to create access to drinking water at school via a rainwater catchment system with filters! We finished construction in September 2023, since then we have created drinking water and stored rain throughout the dry season… the kids and teachers have been utilising the access to help with medical treatment, hot school days & sporting events!
